The Keno Brothers' Hidden Treasures

Antiques and Americana experts Leigh and Leslie Keno treated an audience of four hundred people to tales about some of their many treasure hunts at a very special program called "Hidden Treasures" at The Music Hall in Portsmouth November 18, 2009. The event was part of NEW HAMPSHIRE HOME's Celebrity Lecture Series.

The dynamic and engaging twin brothers became celebrities on PBS's highest rated series, Antiques Roadshow and have been part of its team of appraisers since the series began in 1996.

Among the stories the brothers shared in Portsmouth were their discovery of a late eighteenth-century table made in Boston that was purchased for $25 and later sold at auction for more than $500,000 and a painting that was purchased for $25 and sat in a closet for ten years before selling for $2 million.

The evening featured welcoming remarks from Sharron McCarthy, president and publisher of McLean Communications, and Andi Axman, editor of NEW HAMPSHIRE HOME. After their presentation, the Keno brothers signed books and magazines, and posed for photographs with fans in The Music Hall lobby.

Sponsors of the event include The Atlantic Design Center, The Balsams, The Banks Gallery and Strawbery Banke Museum.
