Sturbridge Village demonstrates ice harvesting, one of New England’s oldest winter industries. Join the New Hampshire Orchid Society for its eighteenth annual show and sale. This is an American Orchid Society-judged event, and trophies will be awarded. <b>Backstage Pass: Rock & Roll Photography</b>

Drawn from the largest private collection of photographs of rock musicians in the country, this show features three hundred photographs taken over the past fifty years, many rarely seen by the public. Opening January 22 and on view through March 22, the Portland Museum of Art exhibit includes portraits and candid outtakes of famous rock and roll stars from Elvis Presley to Madonna. The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Friday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.. <b>Spirit of the Basket Tree: Wabanski Ash Splint Baskets from Maine</b>

The Hood Museum of Art focuses on the rich visual dialogue between contemporary Wabanaki basket artists of Maine and the legacy of Native American basket making in northern New England and southern Canada. <b>And So to Bed: Indian Bed Curtains from a Stately English Home</b>

Using two rare sets of curtains—one of Indian-embroidered cotton and the other of hand-painted Indian callico or chintz—as a starting point, this exhibition explores the influence of the Indes on interior decoration in seventeenth century British architecture, the design and production of the curtains as well as the textile trade between Europe and the East. This exhibit is on view until June 21. Saturday-Tuesday, 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m.; and Wednesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-9:45 p.m. Museum admission for adults is $17, $15 for seniors and students age eighteen and older, $6.50 for children between age seven and seventeen, and children under six are admitted free of charge.
