For the renovation of The Bridges House, the state’s executive residence, a team of New Hampshire designers worked to transform the spaces and Henderson took on the dining room. Since the renovation would provide a bigger space for formal dining, Henderson and decorative painter Judy Dibble envisioned the space as a garden breakfast room. They kept the Hepplewhite sideboard and placed a round skirted table in the center of the room. Dibble’s masterpiece was the series of painted panels around the room with scenes of Mount Chocorua, Mount Kearsarge and a triptych of ocean views from Portsmouth Harbor.
Judges said: “Although very modest in scope (with working on just one room), the attention to detail and color was very noticeable, and it is hard not to respond to the charm of the space. It appears as though all surfaces were considered—from the ceiling, to the backs of the cabinets, etc. This was a charming use of color and pattern.”
