Among the homeowners’ goals for this renovation were more storage and the need for a kosher kitchen, which requires the separation of meat and dairy. But the footprint could not be changed. A second entrance to the kitchen was closed up to make more space for cabinets as well as two dishwashers, two ovens, two drawers for pots and pans, two drawers for flatware and cooking utensils, and a divided sink. Simple, oversized stainless pulls bring life to the dark, cherry stain on the cabinets, while an unusual circular sink and faucet are an artistic, yet functional, exclamation point for the renovated space.

Judges said: This kitchen has clean lines, creative fixtures and great material selections. It is functional, tough and elegant—all in one.
