Breast Cancer Walk scheduled
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premier event to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer and this year the Manchester walk has a new home.
This year’s walk, on Sunday, Oct. 18, will kick off from Merchantsauto.com Stadium. The home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats will turn pink for one day in October when it becomes the new home to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
The Making Strides committee has secured two new noncompetitive routes that range in distance from 3 to 5 miles. Wendy Cogswell, co-chair of the event, said the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’s route will travel to the west side of Manchester and cross over the “Hands Across The Merrimack” footbridge.
The event is still recruiting new teams and volunteers for the day of the walk, so if you are interested in participating, contact Brigit Ryan at 471-4113 or Brigit.Ryan@ cancer.org. To learn more, visit www.cancer.org /stridesonline.
