Among the design elements on the homeowners’ wish list were a large, completely enclosed closet with lots of drawers; a curb-less shower; a free-standing tub with aroma- and chromatherapy built in; and heated tile floors.

Judges said: The design of this spacious bathroom is noteworthy for its elegant mix of materials and use of scale to create focal points. The warmth and texture of natural wood is juxtaposed with cool-toned, large-scale marble slabs. Together, they create drama through contrasting texture, color and reflectivity of light. The details—such as the wood-mounted rain head—are clean and interesting.
